Job Profile Summary

bp is hiring a Project Controls Engineer Performance Integration who will be responsible for ensuring integration of all project controls reporting across the project.

The role will develop and manage high-quality digital, analytical reporting to create and build insights to aid commercial and project decisions and provide accurate and timely reporting to bp, partners and Government departments.

Key AccountabilitiesAct as the main point of contact for all integrated reporting (internal and external)Work with project contractors to support set-up of fit-for-purpose integration of digital reporting and progress monitoring (e.g. DPM)The main point of contact for integration / alignment with Project Controls & Transformation teamProject SPA for Project owner for all Project management / controls Systems and Tools e.g. DPM / PMCS / CMT / ADO, etc.Support the integration of the Master Control Schedule (MCS) and level 1 schedule for the project / programmeEngage and influence senior stakeholders through data-driven insightsResearch, explore and implement new machine learning / advanced analytics capabilities and techniques inc. AI techniques / simplification

Key ChallengesEnsuring Integration and alignment of all stakeholders across NZT / NEPAbility to learn / adapt to new techniques and methods (inc. sharing of learning / ways of working into PC&T)This role will require excellent working relationships with business development & finance teams

Experience and ExpertiseDegree in Engineering, Technical Discipline or Project ManagementMajor Project Experience (10+ years)Solid, broad-based project experience in the concept development, selection, design and / or construction phases of projects with an excellent track record of delivery.Experience of central PMO reporting, performance management and data integration.Self-motivation and a high level of individual initiative and self-reliance are required.Ability to interface, influence, and work effectively with members of Project Leadership.Bias for simplification and efficiency with focus on fit-for-purpose deliverables that meet the needs of the business.Strong ability to build partnerships, actively engage and respect contributions of others.Good written & verbal communication skills.Strong analytical skills with expertise in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ability to adapt quickly to new digital’ technologies.

Desirable criteriaProject Management Professional / Association of Project Management (APM) accreditedAbility to create reports in digital tools such as Power BI

Required CompetenciesAbility to keep things simple Focus on efficiency with focus on fit-for-purpose deliverables that meet the needs of the business (given the nature / emerging nature of digital tools)Influencing and communication skills in English languageAbility to work under own initiativeAble to create a performance culture that is designed to deliver successExcellent inter-personal skills and behavioursAbility to produce good quality written reports and summary presentations able to communicate clarity from complexityCompetent with computers and IT including experience of using standard productivity software (e.g. MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint)
