For the IT development unit at the Public Prosecutor’s Office’s head office, we are looking for a lawyer with responsibility for the legal information for which the Public Prosecutor’s Office is responsible but which is also shared by several authorities in the legal chain. Both technicians and lawyers work at the IT development unit. We all have different tasks but work together in development groups during ongoing projects. Your work as a lawyer is independent with a lot of personal responsibility, but everyone in the working group is on hand and helped when needed.
Your work assignments
You will have the main responsibility for managing and developing the legal information (JIF) for which the Public Prosecutor’s Office has been made responsible in the technical cooperation between law enforcement agencies. The work includes monitoring and implementing new penal legislation and adjusting existing legislation in the event of changes in the law. It is both technical and very legal work that requires structure and accuracy. The legal information is shared by several of the authorities in the legal chain, such as the Swedish Environmental Crime Agency, the Police Authority, the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Crime Prevention Council and the Swedish National Courts Administration. In your work, therefore, there is also a lot of communication and cooperation with representatives of these authorities, not least through your role as convener in the JIF management group, which meets approximately 2-3 times a year.
You will also act as secretary and convener of the Public Prosecutor’s Office’s template council. The Template Council is responsible for for the crime description templates that prosecutors use in their lawsuits and criminal injunctions. Your role is to manage these templates, ie update and adjust them in the IT system, in accordance with new legislation. This role also includes preparing and writing proposals for new or updated templates to the Council.
Depending on your background, other tasks may also be relevant. This can be a perfect job for you who are at the beginning of your legal career.
Your qualities and qualifications
You have to have:
You must be at the end of your law education (only the degree project remains) or have taken a law degree in the Nordic countries.
Good computer skills and technical understanding
Good knowledge of Swedish both orally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have experience from working in government activities.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position until 31 July 2022 with the possibility of extension.
