As a system administrator, you belong to the department of technology. The department’s task is to provide FRA with the technical systems needed for the business. The department develops, acquires and puts new systems into operation and handles the operation and maintenance of existing systems.
In this role, you work operationally in a group that is responsible for the development, management and operation of systems for the authority’s data flows. We have close contact with the customer and you are involved in developing data and adapting solutions to transport the right data in the right format to the right recipient. Your ability to put needs in a larger context is therefore important. We collaborate with many other groups at the authority and you thus get a wide network of contacts. The system you will be working with helps our sharp analysts to transform signal reconnaissance data into ready-made notifications to our clients. Intelligence that ultimately provides support for the government’s foreign, security and defense policy.
We have a strong confidentiality and it is important that you are comfortable with handling it. Travel both within and outside the country may occur.
We are looking for you who have a great technical interest and to be relevant, you meet the following qualifications:
IT-oriented post-secondary education or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience
Worked for at least two years in the relevant part of the IT sector
Good knowledge of Linux system administration in larger environments
Communicates freely in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
In addition to a great technical interest and above qualifications, we see it as a merit if you have knowledge in or experience of any of the following:
Data flow management tools such as Apache NiFi
Automation tools such as Puppet or Ansible
Monitoring tools such as ELK or Graphite / Grafana
Knowledge of standard formats such as XML, JSON or PCAP
Integration of systems and flows / information exchanges between them
Worked with IT security or at other authorities with assignments in the intelligence service

In the role, you work closely with the customer and you make sure to evaluate documents and decisions based on how the customer may be affected. On your own initiative, you take the client’s current and future needs into account when decisions are made and show genuine interest in helping to solve their problems. The work includes many contact areas and presupposes that you have a good ability to work together and are easy to create and maintain relationships.
FRA is a civilian authority with about 900 employees under the Ministry of Defense. Through intelligence activities, where signal reconnaissance is conducted, the FRA provides support for the Government’s foreign, security and defense policy in the short and long term. This is also done through our work to create conditions for a cyber defense and to contribute to protecting socially important information systems.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes by bus from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA means placement in security class.
