A little about Bits
Bits is the banking and finance industry’s infrastructure and digitization company with 37 employees. Our most important task is to ensure efficient payment services and payment infrastructure in Norway, as well as to follow up security in solutions on behalf of the banks. One of the most important things Bits does on behalf of the banking industry is to ensure that digital information moves seamlessly between banks.
Information about the position
The payment intermediation formats are the mainstay of the Norwegian payment system. On behalf of the banking industry, Bits is responsible for designing common standards and formats used between banks, payment companies, companies and the players’ data centers.
Due to the fact that one of our experienced department heads will soon retire, Bits is now looking for a new colleague in the Department of Technical Infrastructure with expertise in integration, formats or standardization. You will gain unique expertise in integration between computer systems, ISO 20022 and various APIs in a network of key people and players in the Banking industry in Norway and the Nordic countries. And through this expertise, you will contribute to the further development of the unique and interoperable Norwegian payment system.
The job involves handling proposals for new standards and developing existing standards within the payment area. You will work closely with the banks and various standardization organizations in the Nordic countries and Europe in the assessment of existing and new standards.
Bits wants to hire a standardization manager. You will participate in all parts of the work of establishing and developing standards.
Your duties will be
Establish and develop standards based on APIs, XML and other formats used between banks.
Participate on behalf of Norwegian banks in Norwegian, Nordic and European organizations that standardize formats within payment messaging.
Gain an understanding of the needs of banks within digital interaction with other players in the payment area.
Lead or participate in inspections and approvals, as well as relevant professional councils and working groups
Build relationships and collaborate with banks, public authorities, suppliers and other relevant actors
Support the banks in establishing new solutions and facilitate the improvement and further development of the services
Examples of desired qualifications
Higher education in IT, technology or economics
Preferably experience in finance or IT-related business
Preferably experience with product development of digital services
Preferably experience from integration between computer systems, messaging or IT security in general
Experience from project participation
Forward-leaning, outward-looking, structured and solution-oriented
You want to develop, learn new things and share knowledge with others
Ability to see the whole with a basis in good detail understanding
Committed, energetic and enterprising and motivated by continuous improvement
Interest in the interplay between technology, business, organization and law
Good communication skills in writing and orally, both in Norwegian and English
