Business developer to Aalborg to accelerate startups and grow the Danish robot industry

Do you want to contribute to the fulfillment potential in Denmark’s robot industry? And work purposefully to strengthen the competitiveness of the country’s robot, automation and drone companies? Odense Robotics and Aalborg University are looking for an experienced business developer with strong competencies within business development of startups and network management for our regional hub in Aalborg.

You will help create the development of robot technology startups. Your primary tasks will be to build and facilitate networks between the leading industrial companies and startups as well as medium-sized robot, automation and drone companies and the local research environments, as well as to advise startups in their business development.

About the position:

Your primary tasks and areas of work will be to:

start up and facilitate the local network in the regional hub in Aalborg and visit member companies
advise the managements of established companies and startups on development opportunities and strategic directions
spar with startups in commercial disciplines (eg business models and go-to-market strategies)
collaboration with the relevant partners in the ecosystem, including promoting the participation of incumbents in research projects
keep the network up to date on current research topics in the local research communities
start up and participate in product innovation projects e.g. in the field of digitization
start up and participate in market innovation projects – including digitization, new green technologies and scaling of startups and SMEs in Global Growth Robotics
facilitate network meetings and hold conferences
Your profile:

Our professional expectations for you are that you have the following qualifications:
great desire and ability to work with startups and scaling SMEs
B2B experience – preferably experience from the domain of robot technology, automation or drone – or related technology
experience in business development
experience in meeting management and in arranging conferences
strong sparring partner profile – possibly. experience from a managerial or consulting role
more than 10 years of professional experience – preferably in the commercial field
technical or commercial education at bachelor’s or master’s level
masters Danish and English – fluent and at a high level (Danish is our internal working language)
As a person:

do you have strong collaboration skills – also good at working in different teams
do you have experience of collaborating with researchers from knowledge institutions and GTSs – possibly. experience from clusters
are you outgoing and find it enriching to be in dialogue with different stakeholders
you can familiarize yourself with different issues and guide teams from there
do you have experience from international industrial companies
are you independent and structured in your task performance
do you really like experience in project and process management
you will be inspired by working in a startup environment
What we offer

You will be part of a committed team with approximately 20 employees. As Odense Robotics is the national link for the entire ecosystem, you will naturally have a broad interface with the business community and other organizations. In the position as business developer, you will work closely with Aalborg University, and you are expected to visit your colleagues at Odense Robotics in Odense a couple of times a month. You will refer to Gert Taul Pedersen, Director of Business Development at Odense Robotics.

The position is a full-time position, where you will partly work with Odense Robotics projects and the rest of the business developer team, and partly become part of Aalborg University’s team at the Department of Electronic Systems.
