Our motivation
Around 8,700 children with a congenital heart defect are born in Germany every year. Not counting the children who get heart disease. Despite the high number of sick children, those affected in the healthcare system are more on the side than the focus of interest in science and research. The effects of the malformations are too complex and the necessary therapeutic approaches and required medical equipment too diverse.

The KinderHerz Foundation has set itself the task of constantly advancing the research and treatment of children’s heart diseases. Its goal is to make medical and technical developments usable quickly and comprehensively in practice with a holistic view and focused understanding, and to enable the targeted transfer of research and development into the clinic and everyday life of those affected.
